Job Description
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Electrician - Transportation Technology to join our team in Herndon, Virginia! In this role you will support multiple clients through troubleshooting, maintenance and installation of many different types of technologies along the roadside.
What You'll Be Doing:- Troubleshoot, and maintain raceways, wiring, and equipment for electrical systems, access controls, intrusion detection, and other systems.
- Inspect, tests, and performs preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communications, and power circuits
- Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
- Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.
- Follow the safety rules and regulations of the Company, Client & OSHA regulations.
- Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job, ability to operate equipment.
- Minimum 3 years experience in job related field.
- Master Electrician License valid in VA.
- Experience working with voltages up to 480v.
- Familiarity with electrical construction practices including threading, bending conduit, and pulling/removing wire.
- Ability to follow directions to complete various job tasks.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to understand installation manuals for all various types of equipment (CCTV, VDS, Field Switches, Encoders, Decoders, DMS)
- Ability to identify, communicate, and isolate electrical hazards
- Ability to use MS Office Suite
- Ability to learn technologies outside of electrical systems
- Ability to work outside in all types of weather.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for short distances.
- Ability to work on uneven terrain.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to work independently
- Ability to work flexible hours with rotational on-call as needed.
- Ability to properly hear and understand or interpret verbal job site instructions and properly perform such instructions in English.
- Must be able to pass Parsons and client background check and drug screening.
- Driver’s license required. (Must be able to meet our insurance requirements.)
- Virginia Work Zone Safety certification is a plus.
- Ability to enable safe handling and use of all equipment assigned.
- Ability to follow the safety rules and regulations of the Company, Client & OSHA regulations.
- Previous experience with typical computerized office systems such as Microsoft Office Suite and other business‑related software
- Ability to follow directions to complete various job tasks.
- Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job, ability to operate equipment.
- Previous experience working with Transportation Technology systems is preferred but will provide training.
- A CDL license and previous Fiber Optic experience are preferred, but not required
- A Journeyman License may be considered if candidate is willing to get Master’s License within 6 months

Salary Range: $48.51 - $84.90
