Brief Overview:
The Head Football Coach leads the program, planning practices and games, managing logistics, recruiting, and fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.

• Compliance:
  Adheres to HCPS and Virginia High School League (VHSL) regulations, including eligibility requirements and safety standards.
• Team Management:
  Organizes team logistics, such as transportation, equipment, uniforms, and schedules for practices and games.
• Player Recruitment:
  Evaluates and selects student-athletes through tryouts, assessing their skills and potential fit for the team.
• Player Evaluation:
  Assesses both individual and team performance throughout the season, providing constructive feedback.
• Communication:
  Maintains open lines of communication with athletes, parents, and school officials regarding schedules, expectations, and team updates.
• Accountability:
  Keeps the school athletic director (AD) informed about all aspects of the athletic program's development and management.
• Assistant Coach Oversight:
  Selects, trains, and evaluates assistant coaches.
• Fundraising and Fiscal Management:
  Organizes fundraising activities and manages the team’s budget in accordance with county and district regulations and policies.
• Professional Development:
  Seeks opportunities for training and education to stay current on coaching strategies, techniques, and regulations.

• Demonstrated experience as a coach.
• Previous experience working with public school student-athletes.
• Extensive knowledge of the sport, with a current understanding of coaching techniques and strategies.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and the capacity to mentor and motivate student-athletes.
• Coaches with prior college experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Minimum Stipend: $4,860.04/Season
