Henrico County Public Schools is one of Virginia’s six largest public school divisions. The district educates students in a suburban community surrounding Richmond. The head football coach leads the high school program, managing practices, games, and player development while promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.

• Plan and coach practices and games, including developing game strategies.
• Recruit, evaluate, and select student‑athletes, conducting tryouts and assessing skills.
• Manage team logistics—transportation, equipment, uniforms, and schedules.
• Maintain open communication with athletes, parents, and school officials regarding schedules and expectations.
• Report all program developments to the athletic director and keep the school administrator informed.
• Select, train, and evaluate assistant coaches.
• Organize fundraising activities and manage the team budget in accordance with district regulations.
• Pursue professional development opportunities to stay current on coaching strategies and regulations.

• Demonstrated coaching experience with public school student‑athletes.
• Extensive knowledge of football, including current coaching techniques and strategies.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills with the capacity to mentor and motivate student‑athletes.
• Coaches with prior college experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Minimum stipend – $4,860.04/season
