Pastor

Fincastle Baptist Church, a small Southern Baptist church in Tazewell, Virginia, is prayerfully seeking a pastor to lead our congregation in faithful worship, biblical discipleship, and service to our community in southwest Virginia.

We seek a man called by God who will faithfully preach and teach Scripture, shepherd our congregation with compassion, and equip members to share the gospel and serve others. The pastor will work alongside church leadership to encourage spiritual growth, strengthen fellowship, and help our church reach people of all ages with the hope of Jesus Christ.

The candidate should:

• Meet the biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership found in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9.
• Demonstrate a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, a consistent prayer life, and personal integrity.
• Affirm the authority of Scripture and Baptist beliefs consistent with our church’s statement of faith.
• Communicate biblical truth clearly and faithfully through preaching and teaching.
• Have a heart for pastoral care, evangelism, discipleship, and missions.
• Lead with humility, work cooperatively with church leadership, and build meaningful relationships within the congregation and community.
• Understand and embrace the opportunities and responsibilities of serving a small church.
