Groundskeepers (Seasonal)
Position within the Division of Stormwater Operations and Grounds Maintenance. Perform grass cutting, weed eating, mulching, pruning, dragging, lining fields, and operating hand and power tools such as pruning shears, weed eaters, tillers, chainsaws, sprayers, shovels, and rakes.
Work Hours 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, March 1st – November 1st.
Salary $14.00 per hour.
Location Yorktown, VA.

- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Dependable and in good physical condition.
- Safety shoes required.
Work is performed outdoors along county roadways and beautification corridors under all types of weather conditions, exposing workers to usual hazards associated with outside maintenance and construction work. This essential position requires reporting to work during inclement and extreme weather, often outside scheduled hours as directed.
Physical Demands- Operate a variety of hand and power tools: weed eaters, chainsaws, sprayers, shovels, rakes.
- Lift 50–100 pounds frequently.
- Walk, stand, stoop, and bend daily.
