Shift Assignments:
- 1st shift will be paid the base hourly rate.
- 2nd shift will be paid the base hourly rate of $20.99 per hour plus a 5% shift differential.
- 3rd shift will be paid the base hourly rate of $20.99 per hour plus a 10% shift differential.

Scope of WorkThe Laborer Grounds Maintenance performs various labor tasks to maintain FASTC property.
Responsibilities- Maintains grounds of FASTC property.
- Cut grass using walking-type or riding mowers (less than 2000 lbs.).
- Utilize weed eater to cut grass or weeds in ditches, ammunition mounds, and berms with high inclines. Frequently lift and carry lawn equipment such as weed eater and edger for long periods of time.
- Trim hedges and edges around walks, flowerbeds, and wells, using hedge trimmers, clippers and edging tools, prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth, using shears and other hand tools, spray lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer or insecticide.
- Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
- Water lawn and shrubs during dry periods, using hose or activating sprinkler system.
- Rake, bag, and remove leaves and other natural debris.
- Remove snow from walks, driveways, roads, or parking lots, using shovel and snow blower.
- Spread salt on walkways and other areas.
- Repair and paint fences, gates, benches, tables, guardrails, and outbuildings.
- Assist in repair of roads, walks, buildings, and mechanical equipment, and may clean comfort stations, offices, workshop areas, and parking lots by sweeping, washing, mopping and polishing.
- Tie down equipment and cargo loads on stake bed trucks and flatbed trailers.
- Hand weed-pulling, raking, shoveling, and mulching landscapes.
- May drive ATVs, Kubota's and other small equipment or tractors.
- Use hand and arm signals to direct other operators.
- Perform all assigned duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, and directives.
- Consistently produce quality products and service.
- Complete all training within required timeline.
- Perform all work in a safe and secure manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to obtain and maintain interim secret clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
- Experience and/or training providing the necessary knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the tasks of the position. Some specialized experience preferred and/or formal vocational/technical training.
- Experience in operating small trucks and grounds equipment.
- Must possess ability to work in a team or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
- Ability to follow basic operating instructions.
- Reliable transportation to the worksite required.
- Knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
- Basic knowledge of custodial, recycling, and working with hazardous materials.
- Effective communication and ability to work harmoniously with others.
- Valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift 50 pounds, push, pull, carry, stoop, bend, squat, and reach for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary, including weekends and holidays.
