This position reports to the Sr. Director of Sanitation and is responsible for leading the implementation of Boar’s Head multi-year Sanitation Strategy across approximately five USDA-regulated facilities. The Sanitation SME provides strategic and technical guidance to the Plant Manager and Site Sanitation Managers, collaborates with Safety, FSQA, Maintenance, Engineering, regulators, and others to ensure effective adoption of the Sanitation Standards. The role ensures standards are deployed, interprets and applies requirements, and reviews corrective action plans, proposals, risk assessments, baseline data, preventive controls, validation data, and related steps based on product/process needs.

The role is accountable for Sanitation KPI results, internal and external inspections (USDA, FDA, GFSI), and customer requirements, and for identifying food safety risks and developing short- and long-term mitigation strategies in Sanitation, Environmental Monitoring, Hygienic Design, Food Safety, GFSI (BRC & SQF), and regulatory areas.

This individual ensures adoption and execution of Sanitation Programs and positively impacts Safety, Food Safety, and Operational Efficiency through executional excellence, KPI analysis, and regular reviews with site teams. The role is aimed at helping Boar’s Head become world-class in sanitation.
