Pharmacy Customer Service Associate – Walgreens Base Pay Range

$16.00/hr - $18.00/hr

• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Register sales on assigned cash register, providing customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision, following state and federal regulations in the practice of pharmacy. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Model and share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied).

• Provide customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
• Recommend items for sale to customers and recommend trade‑up and/or companion items.
• Register customer purchases on assigned cash register, collect cash, and distribute change as requested; process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed. Take customers to the OTC aisle when possible to assist in locating products.
• Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, take inventory, and maintain records. Check in and price merchandise as required or as directed by the store manager or shift leader.
• Perform duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
• Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
• Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program. Review and comply with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Strictly adhere to the Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist’s personal attention, including those to physicians.
• Process (correct and resubmit) manual claims for third‑party prescription programs in a timely and efficient manner, and perform other clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
• Assist and support the Pharmacy Department in inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals. Maintain knowledge of company asset‑protection techniques and file claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods involving prescription drugs.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products).
• Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, super‑structures, and sale merchandise. Complete resets and revisions as directed.
• Assist with separation of food items (e.g., raw foods from pre‑cooked) and product placement as specified by policies/procedures. For consumable items, assist in stock rotation, using first‑in, first‑out methods and restock outs.
• Have working knowledge of store systems and store equipment.
• Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster print, and creative machine, and suggests sales of promotional photo products.
• Assume web pick‑up responsibilities (monitor orders in Picture Care Plus, fill orders, deliver orders to customers as they arrive at the store).
• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance.
