We are partnering with a growing manufacturing operation in the nonwoven sector to identify an experienced Quality Manager for their Rocky Mount, VA facility. This company produces high-performance materials used in food-related applications, with a strong commitment to safety, sustainability, precision, and continuous improvement.

Position OverviewThe Quality Manager will lead all aspects of the site’s Quality Management System (QMS) and Food Safety Management System (FSMS), ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and relevant industry standards. This role oversees the QA/QC team, manages audits, and drives ongoing improvements across operations to support world-class product performance and consistency.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and develop the Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams.
- Own and continuously improve the company’s QMS and FSMS.
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, ISO 9001, BRC, PEFC, and customer‑specific standards.
- Plan, manage, and support internal and external audits, including customer and supplier audits.
- Oversee product testing, raw material inspections, and in‑process checks to maintain consistency and compliance.
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Partner cross‑functionally with Production, R&D, and Maintenance on new product development and process improvements.
- Track and report key quality metrics (e.g., defect trends, customer feedback, rework rates).
- Train and coach staff on quality procedures, food safety, and regulatory expectations.
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation aligned with both regulatory and internal requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer and regulatory quality inquiries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of quality management experience within food manufacturing, food packaging, or a related regulated industry.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO and BRC standards.
- Experience with nonwoven materials, absorption technology, or similar manufacturing processes is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing audits and driving continuous improvement.
- Analytical thinker with excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and common QMS software platforms.
- HACCP, PCQI, or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
- Full‑time, on‑site position in Rocky Mount, VA.
- Primarily office‑based with regular engagement on the production floor.
- Occasional travel to suppliers, customers, or training sessions.
