The Role:

The Porter position is responsible for the delivery, maintaining, stocking, cleaning and ensuring that there is a sufficient supply of products in the venue. Services to include assistance in setting up and/or breaking down functions periodically or as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Washes all china, glass, and silverware.
  • Clean all equipment, pots, and pans pre, during, and post-event.
  • Store all equipment in proper locations.
  • Sweep and mop all floors in the kitchen/office areas.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training.
  • Transport food and equipment throughout the venue as needed.
  • Monitor cleaning supply stock levels per venue needs.
  • Ensure that assigned areas are kept clean and orderly.
  • Perform and assist with routine inventory on a daily basis of all required stock per area of responsibility.
  • Ensure that requisitions are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Assist with deliveries and stocking storeroom and side stations.
  • Assist members in a timely, efficient and professional manner.
  • Fulfill the assigned opening and closing duties as assigned by the Chef.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read, speak and write English in order to communicate with staff and guests.
  • Ability to work all venue events and maintain a flexible schedule to meet service demand levels, including extended hours, days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in an open aired environment during all climate conditions.
  • Must be punctual and dependable.
  • Must maintain personal hygiene and a well‑groomed appearance in accordance with company and venue standards.
  • Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including constant standing, reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing 10–30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette preferred.
  • Ability to effectively listen and take direction from management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented setting.
