The Electrical Commissioning Technician 1 assists in basic testing, maintenance, and installation of electrical equipment under close supervision. This entry-level role involves supporting more experienced technicians while gaining foundational knowledge and skills necessary for progression.

• Assist in testing and maintenance of site/field equipment.
• Support the installation, rearrangement, and removal of equipment and associated wiring.
• Perform basic testing, moving, and adjustments of equipment.
• Assist in field construction inspection to ensure compliance with NETA specifications and plans.
• Maintain records and report inspection activities.
• Understand and apply basic knowledge of mathematics, engineering measuring devices, and safety procedures (including LOTO).
• Prep equipment for testing as directed by the commissioning lead.
• Assist in the operation of load banks and equipment with proper PPE.
• Participate in Operational Risk Management meetings (ORMs).

• Minimum of high school diploma or GED with two years of experience, or a combination of equivalent experience and training.
• Reliable Transportation
• Must successfully pass a background check and drug test
• Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record.

• Vocational school or education training is a plus.

• Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including loading/unloading, operating equipment, and transporting materials. Follow proper lifting techniques and safety protocols.
• Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
• Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and ladders.
• Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls, and reaches overhead on a routine basis.
• Good vision (may be corrected), color vision, and ability to hear and communicate in English.
• May use a standard ladder without exceeding weight limits while carrying tools.
• Ability to recognize when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.
• Ability to apply general rules to specific problems and to synthesize information to form conclusions.
• See details at close range and listen to information presented through spoken words and sentences.
