The Electrical Commissioning Technician 1 assists in basic testing, maintenance, and installation of electrical equipment under close supervision. This entry-level role involves supporting more experienced technicians while gaining foundational knowledge and skills necessary for progression.

- Assist in testing and maintenance of site/field equipment.
- Support the installation, rearrangement, and removal of equipment and associated wiring.
- Perform basic testing, moving, and adjustments of equipment.
- Assist in field construction inspection to ensure compliance with NETA specifications and plans.
- Maintain records and report inspection activities.
- Understand and apply basic knowledge of mathematics, engineering measuring devices, and safety procedures (including LOTO).
- Prep equipment for testing as directed by the commissioning lead.
- Assist in the operation of load banks and equipment with proper PPE.
- Participate in Operational Risk Management meetings (ORMs).
- Minimum of high school diploma or GED with two years of experience, or a combination of equivalent experience and training.
- Reliable Transportation
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug test
- Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record.
- Vocational school or education training is a plus.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including loading/unloading, operating equipment, and transporting materials. Follow proper lifting techniques and safety protocols.
- Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
- Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and ladders.
- Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls, and reaches overhead on a routine basis.
- Good vision (may be corrected), color vision, and ability to hear and communicate in English.
- May use a standard ladder without exceeding weight limits while carrying tools.
- Ability to recognize when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.
- Ability to apply general rules to specific problems and to synthesize information to form conclusions.
