Weld metal pipe together for a commercial mechanical contracting operation.

• Fuse metal pipe segments together using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux‑cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding and submerged arc welding.
• Weld pipe components in flat, vertical or overhead positions.
• Monitor the fitting, burning and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion or expansion of material.
• Perform normal cutting and grinding tasks.
• Ability to fit own pipe together.

• Ability to work on a team and interact with people.
• Punctual and regular attendance.
• Understanding of single and three phase electrical systems.
• Working knowledge of applicable boiler codes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Must have the ability to travel to job sites and occasionally have overnight stays.
• Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driver qualification policy.

• Must be a high school or trade school graduate or have a GED.
• Three years’ experience in pipe fitting, fabricating, and welding.
• Experience pipe welding to code is preferred.
• Ability to obtain welding certification.

• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work at heights.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally and lift and carry 40 lbs. routinely.
• Must be able to climb and work on ladders, scaffolding and stairs.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time as well as stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl in order to work in tight spaces.
• Must be able to use hands to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects.
