Recreation Manager

Overview

The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa is a four‑season resort located in the Allegheny Mountains of Virginia. Since 1766, the resort has offered guests Southern hospitality at its best, with championship golf, a spa, winter sports and a variety of activities ideal for families and corporate outings.

Provide support, leadership and supervision of all Recreation areas including the Mountain Lodge, Allegheny Springs Pool, Kids Club and Allegheny Outdoors.

• Maintain a safe and fun environment for guests.
• Direct, supervise, coach, train and develop Recreation team members.
• Monitor the flow of business at the pools and other Recreation areas, ensuring prompt response to guest concerns and issues.
• Ensure the safety of all guests in the Recreation Areas, ensuring lifeguards are deployed and trained correctly and recreation attendants properly monitor and supervise guest activities.
• Engage staff energetically in carrying out Recreation team job functions and activities.
• Maintain a neat, clean professional appearance for all team members.
• Manage associate payroll according to labor productivity guidelines, ensuring punctuality and break compliance.
• Ensure schedules are completed based on business demand.
• Conduct themselves in a mature and appropriate manner when interacting with children, members, guests and vendors during issues.
• Follow proper procedures in cash handling, safety, registration and cleanliness.
• Create and implement new ideas for recreational activities.
• Help streamline and improve the guest experience and related internal processes.
• Follow up on guest and member requests quickly.

• Must have a high school diploma.
• 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role preferred.
• Previous experience in customer service and administrative duties required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Current certification of First Aid, CPR, AED preferred or able to acquire within 90 days of employment.
• Current Lifeguard Instructor Certification preferred or willing to obtain within first 6 months of employment.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
• Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand and work on uneven terrain.
