Job Summary
The Woodstone Recreation Front Desk Lead Supervisor is a key leadership position that assists management in overseeing daily operations of the recreation front desk, escape room experiences, and broader recreation programming. This role supports staffing, scheduling, training, and guest services while taking ownership of day-to-day operational needs.
The position requires supervisory and customer service–related experience and is ideal for a team member ready to take the next step in leadership. Candidates with prior knowledge of the Recreation Department, Woodstone Recreation, or Massanutten resort operations are preferred.
Typical Schedule
Days:
Primarily Monday–Friday. Occasional evenings and weekends based on operational needs. During peak summer season and holiday weeks, evening shifts may increase, and weekend coverage may require one to two weekends per month, depending on staffing and business levels.
Hours:
Rotating; day and evening shifts
Core Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership and support to recreation front desk staff and supervisors
- Maintain a working knowledge of Inntopia, Adventure Bucket List, and Siriusware; develop and support training standards for new hires and current employees
- Lead and support training for front desk, supervisor, and escape room operations
- Enforce and maintain departmental standards; hold staff accountable for tardiness, absences, and conduct, and follow up as needed
- Assist management with employee scheduling, time-off coordination, and shift coverage
- Create weekly schedules and ensure staffing levels align with current budget requirements
- Serve as a point of contact for staff during shifts, as needed
- Support escape room operations, including bookings, resets, testing, and minor repairs
- Coordinate and assist with maintaining inventories of recreation sports and games equipment, ice cream vending, and escape room and VR equipment
- Assist with onboarding new employees; follow up on milestone dates and train staff on the Resort Mission, Values, Standards, and Woodstone Rec/Real Escapes–specific policies and procedures
- Assist with interviews, staff meetings, onboarding, and additional training sessions
- Support guest services and mediate conflicts with guests and employees
- Communicate operational updates and events to staff
- Help maintain cleanliness standards and support cash-handling procedures
- Assist with reports, SOPs, signage, and interdepartmental communication
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Associate degree in a related field or one or more years of supervisory experience
- Experience working with the public
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Familiarity with Massanutten operations preferred
