Sideline Cheer Coach; Winter

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Sideline Cheer Coach for the Winter season at Orange County High. This full-time position requires a strong commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for student-athletes. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cheerleading techniques, effective coaching strategies, and a desire to inspire and motivate young cheerleaders to excel both on and off the field.

• Develop and implement practice plans that enhance cheerleading skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Coach and lead the cheer team during games, competitions, and community events, ensuring high levels of performance and engagement.
• Collaborate with other coaches, athletic staff, and school administration to promote a positive and healthy cheerleading program.
• Organize and oversee cheerleading events, including tryouts, fundraisers, and team-building activities.
• Provide constructive feedback and individualized support to cheerleaders to help them reach their full potential.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all team members during practices and events, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
• Maintain open lines of communication with athletes, parents, and school staff regarding team expectations, schedules, and performance.
• Monitor and evaluate team performance throughout the season, making adjustments to training and strategies as necessary.
• Foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and teamwork among all team members.
• Attend all necessary meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance coaching skills and knowledge.

• Previous experience coaching cheerleading at the high school or collegiate level is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of cheerleading techniques, choreography, and safety practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their best.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the cheerleading schedule.
• A positive attitude and a passion for mentoring young athletes.
