Position SummaryThe Wire Cutter/Warehouse Worker performs duties in the warehouse to support a safe, accurate, well‑coordinated shipping, receiving, and customer‑service operation – including cutting electrical wire for customer pick‑up and delivery. Warehouse Workers have opportunities to progress within the Distribution Center and grow into other roles at branch locations.
Position Responsibilities- Receive and hang reels of wire in designated area. Cut wire to customer specification for counter, will‑call, and other sales orders, ensuring accuracy and minimizing losses.
- Receive incoming materials, checking packing slips against actual merchandise. Inspect materials for defects and notify supervisor as needed.
- Stock shelves, ensuring materials are in their designated area. Pull materials from warehouse shelves to fill orders, back‑orders, inter‑branch transfers, and will‑call orders. Identify correct quantity and customer specifications.
- Utilize RF guns for picking and packing.
- Pack and ship materials in designated cartons per customer order and department procedures.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks.
- Assist customers with pipe purchases.
- Post purchase orders and related data into the computer system.
- Check email and trackers daily for time‑sensitive company information.
- Communicate with the sales department when a material ordered is not available.
- Work closely with all internal departments to help achieve the company mission.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- May be required to operate powered industrial trucks.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. several times a day, bend, and twist.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Act safely and positively, ensuring others are not put sonal safety is your responsibility.
- Complete an accident/incident report for any safety or health infractions that occur or are witnessed.
Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and support them for all employees within the branch.
Qualifications- Must be able to work Monday through Friday, 12:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
