Are you looking for a new and exciting opportunity?
If so, consider a career with TETER, INC, Central California's largest architecture and engineering firm. For four decades we've been partnering with clients to design beautiful, safe, and sustainable buildings, vibrant learning environments, and meaningful public places.
Whether it's breathing life into an older building or designing new construction, our architects and engineers listen to our clients' wishes and concerns, then work within their budget and timeline to develop a solution they'll enjoy for years to come.
We're currently searching for an experienced Job Captain, with previous experience on projects under DSA (Division of the State Architect) jurisdiction, primarily K-12, community college, and public university facilities, preferred.
The Job Captain is responsible for the day-to-day operations of multiple projects, collaborating with multiple disciplines to provide design solutions of the highest quality. Working under the direction of an experienced project manager, he/she will perform both routine and specialized aspects of architectural assignments, demonstrating technical skills and design judgment to transform conceptual designs into construction documents, and help develop and monitor project timelines and budgets.
The successful Job Captain is a manager of clients, consultants, and project staff, always communicating effectively and in a timely manner. He/she is a superb delegator who can pass work down to drafters, supervise assignments efficiently, provide consistent support and direction, and isn't averse to diving into the nitty-gritty details of a project when needed.
Minimum requirements for this position include:
- NCARB registration complete and progression of reported AXP (IDP) hours
- Registered Architect in the State of California preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction, or related field
- Five to seven years of architecture and project management experience
- Demonstrated use of REVIT and/or AutoCAD to effectively produce construction documents
- Understanding of the basic construction systems of walls, roofs, doors, and windows
- Knowledge of building code concepts and their application to project design
- Effective time management skills, setting goals, prioritizing, and completing tasks on time
- Self-motivated and committed to personal and firm growth
