Social Media Designer – Foundation for Women Warriors

Position Summary:

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Social Media Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing visually compelling content for our social media platforms, print materials, merchandise, and assisting with website updates. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to launch their career in graphic design and digital marketing and will directly assist in broadening awareness about FFWW programs and impact.

Reporting To

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute visually impactful digital and print design materials that align with organizational goals.
  • Create compelling, mission-driven visual content, including infographics, promotional materials, and social media graphics, tailored to various platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, etc.) aligned with the branding and values of the organization.
  • Design layouts and templates for email campaigns, newsletters, and other outreach materials.
  • Edit and optimize images for both social media and website use.
  • Assist in scheduling, maintaining, and updating social media and website content, ensuring visuals and layout are consistent with brand standards.
  • Maintain a consistent brand identity across all digital channels.
Collaboration and Support
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop creative concepts that align with campaign goals and brand guidelines.
  • Contribute creative ideas for improving engagement and enhancing the user experience on social media and the website.
  • Partner with program staff to ensure digital and print design supports organizational initiatives and events.
  • Coordinate with photographers and videographers to maintain high-quality branding and content delivery.
  • Support collaborations with partner organizations and stakeholders by providing branded assets for co-promotion.
Analytics and Community Engagement
  • Assist with monitoring and responding to follower interactions to build relationships and grow online communities.
  • Stay informed about graphic design trends, tools, technologies, and audience preferences to elevate the organization's visual identity.
  • Track the performance of visual and digital campaigns using data analytics tools.
  • Use data to refine visual content and improve audience impact.
Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, web design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience
  • Prior internship, volunteer, or academic experience designing for and/or managing social media accounts is a plus.
  • Awareness of challenges faced by the veteran community and a passion for supporting their empowerment.
Skills & Attributes
  • A solid understanding of social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linked In, You Tube) and their design requirements (e.g., aspect ratios, image resolution).
  • Willingness to learn and use social media analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Google Analytics, etc.).
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or similar software.
  • Basic knowledge of website content management systems (e.g., Word Press, Squarespace, Wix).
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to create concise and impactful messaging.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative, proactive, and eager to learn.
  • Collaborative mindset with a passion for community-building.
