• Performs technical functions supporting engineering activities.
• Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
• Works from documentation, written or verbal instructions, schematics, rough sketches, diagrams, layouts, and plans often requiring interpretation and application of comprehensive knowledge and practical understanding of electronic theory and principles.
• Applications may include analog, digital, and/or video circuits and logic systems.
• Conducts testing in a development mode and determines methods or actions to correct malfunctions or design problems.
• Recommends modifications to engineering designs as necessary.
• May assist in the design, construction, test, and checkout of test equipment.
• Normally assigned in areas such as development, engineering, test equipment, system checkout, fabrication, and the like.

• Performs the assignments in the form of objectives with goals and processes to meet goals outlined.
• Receives some instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments.

• Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is resolving problems and making routine recommendations.
• Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.

• Personal judgment and performance may affect the cost, schedule, and quality of individual projects.
• Decisions or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules.

• Interacts daily with supervisor, peer groups, and customers. Interaction normally involves exchanges or presentation of factual information.

• Under general supervision. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, little instruction on new assignments.

• Having knowledge and experience, able to handle unusual occurring job events.
• Choice of action requires more than common sense in that some training and experience is needed before knowing what to do under special circumstances.

• High school education or equivalent and years of related experience.
• Prefer technical/professional certifications.
