Status: Part-Time | Hourly | Non-Exempt

Reports to: Kids Ministry Pastor

Level: $18

Hours:

  • Sunday: 7:30am–2:30pm
  • Monday: None
  • Tuesday: TBD (10:00am–1:00pm during event planning, as needed)
  • Wednesday: 10:00am–1:00pm (Office Hours)
  • Thursday: 5:30pm–8:30pm (during Rooted seasons and Church on Thursday)
  • Friday: None
  • Saturday: None

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Reports directly to the Kids Ministry Pastor and the PreK Ministry Pastor. Employee must seek authorization for broad scope of tasks.

SCOPE & DIMENSIONS:

Interacts with all staff, volunteers, and children to create a relevant, fun, and engaging experience. Maintains a welcoming and inviting environment. Upholds policies and procedures. Supports the execution of large and small events across the East Lake Kids calendar. Leads volunteer teams and partners with vendors to carry out ministry experiences that reflect the culture and mission of East Lake Kids.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Execute events of various sizes that reflect the culture and mission of East Lake Kids.
  • Take direction from the Kids Ministry Pastor to carry out event planning, prep, and execution with extreme ownership.
  • Communicate clearly across teams, departments, and with outside vendors.
  • Be available and actively serve during service experiences on Thursdays and Sundays.
  • Recruit, train, and lead a ministry team of volunteers.
  • Ensure all East Lake Kids Ministry policies and procedures are followed and help guide leaders as needed.
  • Provide care for volunteer leaders and families to maintain healthy relationships.
  • Maintain organized notes, plans, and vendor records (including COIs and W9s) for future use.
  • Manage budget and spending as needed.
  • Assist with set-up and tear-down as assigned.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Active membership and regular attendance at Eastlake Church
  • Proficient in Google Docs/Spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Google Calendar.
  • Familiarity with Canva or other visual marketing tools.
  • General knowledge of audio/visual equipment.
  • Two years of experience in a related environment is preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
  • Ability to multitask, self-lead, communicate clearly, and execute with ownership.
  • A professing Christian with deep commitment to living out biblical principles and actively participating in a local Bible-believing church.

WORKING CONDITIONS /

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Mobile – in and out of office to ensure task completion.
  • On-site during active ministry hours and events.
  • Church staff is required to abide by the Cultural Expectations (tithe, attendance, conduct, etc.).
  • Overtime hours as required by ministry needs.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • As a staff person at Eastlake Community Church, I agree to abide by all the provisions of the Employee Handbook.
  • The Church reserves the right, at any time, with or without notice, to alter or change job responsibilities, reassign or transfer job positions, or assign additional job responsibilities.
  • This position is classified by the Church as a Part-Time paid position and is Non-Exempt from the overtime provisions, as stated in Employee Handbook.
