About the job As a Field Assembly Technician, you will first test complex machines in our own assembly hall. Then you will travel around the world to fully install and commission the delivered production line at the customer’s site together with your team. You contribute independently, yet as part of a team, to the delivery of high‑quality custom‑built machines that Royal Houdijk develops for internationally established biscuit and cookie manufacturers.
Your key responsibilities Read technical drawings and schematics
Assemble mechanical and electrical components
Install and connect machines on site
Perform functional tests and resolve any malfunctions
Report on progress and any bottlenecks
What you can expect A very competitive fixed base salary between €3,400 and €4,676 gross per month
Eligibility for many additional allowances that can sometimes double your fixed monthly salary
A solid pension plan with PME, to which Royal Houdijk contributes 50%
27 vacation days and 13 ADV (reduction of working hours) days in accordance with the Metalektro collective labour agreement (CLA); the option to sell ADV days in exchange for a higher monthly salary
A fixed monthly commuting allowance based on €0.23 per kilometre

Key qualifications MBO‑level diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a similar field
Affinity for the production or machine‑building environment, preferably with experience in mechanical and electrical work
Proficiency with computers, including Word and Excel
Good communication skills in both Dutch and English
Willingness to work abroad regularly for two to three weeks at a time, preferably with prior experience
A Certificate of Conduct (VOG) may be required as part of the application process
