Field Service Engineer

About the role  As a Field Service Engineer at Royal Houdijk, you will ensure our installations at the customer’s site work properly and keep working. You will perform service and maintenance tasks, provide instructions and training, and support the operation of the entire line.

Key Responsibilities   Communicate with customers and maintenance departments regarding machine faults or upgrades, ensuring a proper handover.
Check the correct operation of the entire line and carry out the final inspection.
Collect test data, monitor the progress of testing, and maintain thorough documentation, including recording your hours.
Collaborate with fellow engineers and managers to identify solutions to technical issues and discuss these with the customer.
Provide instructions and training to customer staff, such as operators and maintenance technicians.
Assist in on‑site visits or remote troubleshooting as required.
Participate in assembly and commissioning work during the initial period in the Assembly department.
Qualifications   A completed degree in Mechanical Engineering at least at MBO level, or equivalent through work experience.
Knowledge and experience in electrical engineering and mechanical construction.

Experience with dynamic drive systems and modern PLC control technologies (Rockwell and Beckhoff controls is a plus).
Willingness to travel abroad regularly, sometimes on short notice, for extended periods (2 to 4 weeks).
Ability to communicate and report clearly in Dutch and English.
Provision of a certificate of good conduct (VOG) may be part of the application process.
Benefits and Working Conditions   Salary between €3,980 and €5,300 per month (based on 40 hours), supplemented by a generous project/overseas allowance.
