Job Overview
Are you a skilled copywriter with experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation in both Dutch and English? As a Technical Writer at Royal Houdijk in Vlaardingen, you will be responsible for producing clear documentation to accompany our advanced feeding, dosing, and sorting systems supplied worldwide by Houdijk. You will ensure that our customers have access to clear and accurate information about our systems.
This includes work instructions, user manuals, operating and maintenance guidelines, spare parts lists, and training manuals.
You translate complex technical information into clear and accessible manuals, work instructions, maintenance guidelines, and spare parts manuals for both internal departments and our international customers. In addition, you will take on several other key responsibilities, including:
- Initiating and contributing to the standardization and uniformity of documentation.
- Preparing standard training documentation and, where necessary, implementing changes, order‑specific adjustments, extensions, and reissues.
- Creating and designing technical illustrations for our documentation.
- Editing 3D models to generate accurate illustrations for use in the documentation.
- Developing complete training modules for our customers, including textbooks, presentations, e‑learnings, and on‑site training sessions.
- Applying modern communication tools to share technical information with users.
- Playing a key role in optimizing our documentation process with a strong focus on machine safety and overall safety.
- A salary between €3,700 and €5,100 per month (based on 40 hours).
- 27 vacation days and 13 additional leave days (ADV) in accordance with the Metalektro collective labor agreement.
- The option to sell unused ADV days each year.
- A fixed monthly commuting allowance of €0.23 per kilometer.

- At least a (technical) MBO‑level education.
- Experience working in a technical environment and affinity with mechanical engineering.
