Substitute teacher toddlers

Would you like to temporarily join our toddler team?
For St. Joseph's School in Volendam, we are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who will temporarily join our team during a maternity leave, from November 1st 2026 to May 1st 2027.
You will be working in group 1-2B, a group of young children where playing, exploring and learning in a meaningful way are central. We work based on engaging themes that we build and deepen together with the children. Through thematization, we createa rich learning environment where children are challenged to discover, investigate and develop on their own level.
You will find yourself in a committed and experienced team where we work together, support each other, and enjoy working on providing excellent education for our students.

• Standing with pleasure and confidence in front of a group of toddlers.
• Has experience with or an interest in thematic teaching and the use of themes.
• They manage to create a safe, warm and challenging learning environment.
• Would like to work together and contribute positively to our team.

• Period:
  November 1, 2026 to May 1, 2027.
• Size: 0.8 FTE.
• Working days:
  Preferably Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Other options are negotiable.
• Group: 1-2B.
• Service period: temporary replacement due to maternity leave.

The St. Joseph School is a unique school that is more than 100 years old and is located in the old part of Volendam. It is a school where the children are allowed to be themselves and are prepared for secondary education by a dedicated team of experienced teachers. The highlight of the school is Science & Technology, where the students take in the curriculum in a research-oriented and exploratory way.

Due to the curiosity that children naturally possess, they pick up this way of working very quickly. It is also fascinating to see how easily they use interactive learning tools in this way!
