Lab Scientist; MLS​/CLS​/MT​/MLT Wabash

Our client, a major hospital organization in Northern Indiana, has a need for a Lab Scientist – Medical Lab Scientist, Clinical Lab Scientist, Medical Technologist, or Medical Lab Technician at their Wabash Hospital location. The Medical Lab Scientist is responsible for accurately performing medical laboratory tests following established laboratory policies and procedures and adhering to performance and quality standards. Certified Lab Scientists are eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus and relocation bonus upon approval.

Hours:

• 11:00am – 7:30pm with flexibility to start earlier or later as needed

• 36 hours/week; evenings with weekends.

Main Responsibilities:

• Clinical instrument maintenance

• New test and instrumentation development

• Training of other laboratory co-workers

• Actively participates in the overall functioning of the clinical lab, assuming leadership and member roles as part of a team on committees and projects

• Keeping the lab in continuous readiness for inspection

• Provides guidance to other lab coworkers

Education &

Licensure/Certification s

Required:

• Bachelor of Science required.

• Completion of NAACLS-accredited Clinical Laboratory Science program required

• Must be a certified Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist by the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathology, the National Credentialing Agency, the American Medical Technologists, or the Board of Registry of the American Association of Bioanalysts.
– OR –

• Have 1 year of clinical laboratory experience, performing non-waived patient testing and required to pass a nationally-recognized certification exams (AMT or ASCP) within 5 years and 6 months from hire date.

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
