POSITION SUMMARY
:
The IT Desktop Support Specialist provides computer support to all departments and locations within Bridgeview Eye Partners (BVEP). Responsibilities include installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and software while ensuring optimal workstation performance. This person processes Help Desk calls in a timely and accurate manner and provides employee training and assistance as required.

: $19.00-$23.00

This role is hybrid eligible. Travel is required.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Installs, diagnose repairs, maintains, and upgrades all hardware and software for all departments to ensure optimal workstation performance. This includes tracking, IT support, and maintenance on all computers.
  • Provides employee training and IT assistance as required.
  • Maintains and correctly utilizes support ticketing systems to track and prioritize system issues.
  • Escalate issues to proper resource as required.
  • Troubleshoots computer and printer issues, in addition to all peripheral equipment (copiers, telephone systems and fax machines)
  • Coordinates with supervisor when outside support is needed.
  • Maintains the Information Technology inventory in the server room as well as satellite administrative offices, which includes pictures of all devices and updated information on software and hardware pieces.
  • Maintains and retains current documentation on all areas related to the Information Technology department.
  • Oversees installation of network cabling for projection software at all locations, and installs cabling for networking computers, printers, etc. when needed.
  • Troubleshoots broadband connections and telephone connections.
  • Supports all outside presentations (i.e. continuing education seminars), by ensuring all required AV equipment is set up and functional.
  • Rotates “on call” responsibilities, including rotation on nights and weekends.
  • Performs other duties and assumes various responsibilities as determined by IT Systems Director.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Associate degree in Information Technology/Information Systems or related field is preferred. Equivalent education and work experience will be considered.
  • CompTIA A+, Net+, Security+, Server+ or equivalent experience is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT (per ADA guidelines)
  • Physical Activity:
    Standing, stooping, reaching, walking, lifting, fingering, talking.
  • Physical Requirements:

    Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • The worker must have close visual acuity to perform each position activity.
  • Travel is required for this position and requires a valid driver’s license.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
  • Staff members are required to meet training expectations within their initial 90‑day probationary period. This training includes instructional sessions on computer hardware/software used within BVEP and other job-specific responsibilities.
