Utility Worker I - 10 months – Temporary – 35hrs/wk – Lab West

J.R. Smallwood Middle School, 70‑78 Bowater Drive, P.O. Box 5000, Wabush, A0R 1B0.

The Utility Worker I is responsible for daily cleaning of the school, which includes mopping floors, cleaning washrooms, classrooms, windows, and other interior surfaces. The position also operates equipment associated with cleaning tasks, is responsible for snow clearing and ice control, and performs additional duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Recent experience in a commercial cleaning environment
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, materials and equipment
• Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
• Physical abilities consistent with the requirements of the job
• The ability to work as a team player and independently
• Reliable transportation

Salary per the NAPE Collective Agreement (CG‑19: $20.86 – $22.51 per hour), plus applicable shift differential.
