The successful candidate is committed to making a difference to offenders who require supervision and intervention to develop their potential as law abiding members of the community. This position is responsible for assessing and supervising adult offenders who are subject to Probation Orders, Conditional Sentence Orders, and/or Temporary Absence Permits. The incumbent will utilize a best practice approach for case management;

preparing pre-sentence reports; investigating violations and preparing legal documentation for breach purposes; developing and implementing case management plans targeting the criminogenic needs of adult offenders; providing interventions and referrals to individual or group intervention programs with the goal of reducing recidivism; and other duties as required.

• Completion of a degree behavioral sciences (equivalencies will be considered)
• Experience in the assessment of complex human behavior and providing interventions to support change
• Experience with case management practices
• Experience in the delivery of social and community programs and services (asset)

• Knowledge of risk assessment
• Knowledge of complex behaviors and intervention techniques
• Knowledge of programs and services available to offenders (asset)

• Professionalism

• Recent and satisfactory Enhanced Security Clearance
• Proof of Class 5 Driver’s License

• Willing to accept day and overnight travel (occasional)
• Willing to accept overtime
• Willing to work on weekends and holidays (occasional)
• Acknowledges requirement for use of a private vehicle (with business insurance)
