July 2026. Live Oak Classical School invites passionate, mission-driven leaders to apply for the position of Head of School. We are seeking a servant‑leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and has a deep love for Christ, classical education, inspirational leadership, and cultivating a joyful, intentional community. As Head of School, you’ll lead a flourishing PreK–12 institution rooted in classical Christian education and influenced by the Charlotte Mason philosophy.
You’ll work alongside a dedicated faculty and supportive parent body, guiding the strategic direction of the school while nurturing a rich, integrated academic and spiritual culture.
Since opening our doors in 2004, Live Oak Classical School has grown from 35 to almost 500 students in grades Junior Kindergarten (pre‑kindergarten) through 12th grade. Live Oak Classical School is committed to shaping minds and souls for a lifetime of learning and service. Our students are known, challenged, and inspired to pursue truth, goodness, and beauty in all aspects of life.
Located in the heart of Waco, Texas, we are a growing school community with vibrant academics, robust fine arts and athletic programs, and deep ties to our local and faith communities. Live Oak Classical School is affiliated with Texas Private Schools Association, TACAC, and TAPPS, partners closely with Society of Classical Learning, and holds accreditations with SAIS.
- Serve as the Chief Executive under the direction of the Board of Trustees
- Lead and empower a talented team of academic and administrative leaders
- Oversee all school programs – Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric – along with co‑curricular and non‑curricular activities
- Represent and promote the school to families, community leaders, churches, and partner organizations
- Foster strong relationships with parents, faculty, students, and alumni
- Steward strategic planning and manage the school’s budget and operational excellence
- Champion our mission and guide spiritual and academic formation with integrity and vision
- Are a mature follower of Christ with a passion for classical Christian education
- Possess strong leadership and organizational skills
- Thrive in building and sustaining healthy culture and community
- Have experience leading teams, managing programs, and working with boards
- Communicate with clarity, humility, and purpose
- Embody grace, wisdom, and joyful discipline
