Credit Analyst

Job Purpose:

Evaluate established contract surety accounts based on the company's underwriting guidelines. Review established lines of surety credit, and confirm or recommend changes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review accounts and financial requirements for risks requiring complex underwriting skills
• Review accounts to make sure underwriting material is current and up to date
• Prepare consistent and well thought out recommendations and conclusions, working with underwriters on a day to day basis
• Work with agents to get updated information on accounts
• May provide guidance and assistance to other underwriters and to other functional areas, particularly when related to cross-sell opportunities
• Keeps current on state/territory issues and regulations, industry activity and trends and freely shares information with others
• Utilizes advanced functionality in relevant company systems to perform day-to-day activities
• Front line evaluation of new submissions to the contract bond department
• Management of department statistical data and credit grading model, reporting to management for trend analysis
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications &

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
• Advanced knowledge of surety underwriting
• Demonstrate high level of technical expertise
• Proficient in the use of contemporary business software (Microsoft Suite)
• AFSB Designation or willingness to obtain designation

Physical Requirements:

• Job conditions may require light lifting, sitting, walking and standing
• May be required to sit at a desk or computer for long periods of time
• Ability to see details of objects at a close range (within a few feet of the observer)
• Ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands and wrists

• Waco, TX
• In office with hybrid remote options after 6 months
