Vice President and General Manager, Industrial Division

This position will develop and implement the commercial and manufacturing strategy for Industrial products, optimizing investment and supporting the comprehensive deployment of a globalization strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver targeted annual productivity improvements; ensure innovation processes result in New Product Development projects.
  • Manage a project pipeline identifying business opportunities to drive Operational Excellence, Market Share Growth, and Productivity.
  • Develop and document a “best-in-class” structured process for assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations processes, including driving metrics and analytics to mitigate risks to current EBITDA and identify opportunities to significantly improve EBITDA.
  • Lead ongoing deployment and implementation of Lean Manufacturing techniques and Process Productivity initiatives.
  • Partner with Quality to reduce waste in processes (scrap, rework, attrition).
  • Develop annual business plans with senior-level unit leaders to ensure proper resource deployment.
  • Ensure full compliance with EHS standards, policies, procedures, and processes; investigate incidents and remediate root causes.
  • Drive commercial margin improvement, maximizing pricing opportunities and protecting profitability against inflationary pressures.
  • Drive the introduction of new products and technologies that support customer needs, opening or expanding markets, and expanding Howmet’s Intellectual Property.
  • Continue to diversify the customer base in relevant markets such as renewable energy and material handling, minimizing revenue concentration.
  • Lead the annual strategic planning process, including facilities, location & consolidation, strategic sourcing, and operations organization assessment.
  • Present organizational, strategic, financial, and operational proposals to senior leadership to advance manufacturing effectiveness.
  • Provide positive leadership, ensuring open communication and addressing employee concerns and substandard performance.
  • Analyze and prepare Capital Appropriation Requests to secure required capital equipment meeting or exceeding capital return targets.
  • Interface directly with key customers, Sales & Marketing, and Account Managers to resolve delivery, quality, and other issues.
