Position Overview
The Evening and Weekend Operations Manager oversees all evening and weekend operations of the Bledsoe‑Miller STEAM Center. This role ensures that programs, events, and facility activities run smoothly, safely, and efficiently outside of standard business hours. The Manager serves as the primary on‑site contact during after‑hours operations, coordinating logistics, supporting staff and partners, and maintaining a high standard of customer service and operational excellence.
Title: Evening and Weekend Operations Manager, Bledsoe‑Miller STEAM Center
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all evening and weekend programs, events, and rentals.
- Coordinate event logistics, including room set‑up, equipment needs, and custodial or maintenance support.
- Ensure compliance with all facility, safety, and security policies; respond to incidents and complete required documentation.
- Communicate with the Executive Director and daytime management team regarding facility issues, scheduling needs, and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Monitor and maintain inventory for after‑hours use; submit supply or maintenance requests as needed.
- Develop, track, and analyze key performance metrics (e.g., attendance, membership, revenue, program utilization) to inform decisions and support program growth.
- Provide on‑site leadership and supervision to part‑time or event staff as assigned.
- Participate in planning meetings and contribute feedback on after‑hours programming and service enhancements.
- Support special events and community engagement initiatives in alignment with the STEAM Center’s mission and goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure safe and effective facility operations.
Required
:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; at least three (3) years of experience in facility operations, customer service, or event management.- Preferred
:
Master’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Education, or related field; prior experience in an educational, nonprofit, or community center setting.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Experience responding to facility or safety incidents and following established protocols.
- Proficiency with scheduling systems, spreadsheets, and event management software.
- Customer‑service orientation and ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and special events as scheduled.
- Work performed primarily on‑site at the STEAM Center during evenings and weekends.
- May involve standing or walking for extended periods and light physical activity (e.g., room set‑up or moving materials).
- Occasional exposure to outdoor elements during events or activities.
