Summary

The primary responsibility of this position is to operate the S andiacre machine and ensure appropriate packaging of bagged products. We have implemented safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID‑19, including temperature screens, face coverings, and regular enhanced cleaning and sanitation.
- Fill bags with the appropriate amount of product.
- Prevent bags from being overfilled with air.
- Check and correct machine settings.
- Enter correct date codes on bags.
- Maintain equipment, including blades, bag seals, rear seals, and jaws, in working order.
- Ensure the correct film is used and keep film filled.
- Check weights on bags.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support production demands as may be specified by customer or client.
Additional tasks may be assigned as production demands require.

Education and/or ExperienceLess than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
License and Certification RequiredNone specified.
Training Requirements / MethodsAll employees are required to attend employee and safety orientation prior to performing the above duties. Once the employee completes this training, they will be assigned to a Supervisor who will further orient the employee to the workplace, introduce him/her to employees and other supervision, demonstrate work assignments and explain ingress and egress procedures to and from the workstation. A training buddy may be assigned to new employees for a period to assist in further training and indoctrination.
Training responsibilities may include personnel representatives, safety director, supervisors, and lead workers.
The employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
WorkEnvironment
The employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts and extreme heat, occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
Protective EquipmentThe employee is required to wear a hair net, beard net (if necessary), gloves, a smock, slip‑proof boots, and ear protection. Protective equipment may also be provided as per regulatory, sanitary, or safety procedures.
