Quality Control Manager (QCM) – Electrical & Life Safety

Contract (24 Months)
Schedule:
40 hours per week with occasional OT Compensation: $50.00 – $55.00/hr + Per Diem: $145 a day, 7 days/week
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager (QCM) with strong electrical and life-safety systems expertise to oversee site quality control programs for a multi-year, multi-building infrastructure renovation in Central Texas. This position is responsible for administering the Quality Management Plan, leading multi-phase inspections, verifying material submittals, and ensuring all electrical and fire alarm work meets stringent project specifications and safety codes within an operational campus environment.
Key Responsibilities Manage and execute structured quality control processes across all phases of construction (Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-up inspections). Oversee field testing, submittal reviews, and inspection logs for complex electrical, low-voltage, and life-safety installations. Work closely with project management, field superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with contract drawings, technical specifications, and safety guidelines. Conduct daily site inspections to identify, document, and track non-conformance items to resolution.
Maintain comprehensive daily quality control reports, test results, and compliance documentation.
Required Qualifications Certification:
Active Construction Quality Management (CQM) certification required.
Experience:
5+ years of quality control or field supervisory experience on commercial, institutional, or industrial renovation projects. Technical Depth: B.S. in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with 2+ years of field quality experience OR 5+ years supervising field electrical and fire alarm installations. Strong familiarity with multi-phase quality control systems and material submittal verification workflows. Excellent communication, reporting, and technical documentation capabilities.
