FAR Inspections, a 9‑year‑old company based in Reno, NV, seeks highly motivated independent contractors to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders.

Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy flexible schedules. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required; effective time‑management and meeting deadlines are essential.

• Complete most inspections (generally exterior only) within 5–6 minutes.
• Finish each inspection within 4 days of assignment.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy status using industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Fill out a short form in the mobile application.
• Spend extended periods driving and making multiple stops within the assigned territory.

• Computer with reliable internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as vehicle expenses are your responsibility).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. While you are paid per inspection, you can expect $30–$40 per hour and can work roughly 2–30 hours per week. Lower‑volume counties offer higher rates; higher‑volume counties offer lower rates. There is no set minimum number of inspections per month, but work is consistent month to month.

No additional mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
