Facilities Maintenance Technician – Brazos Electric Power Cooperative – Waco, TX

Brazos Electric Power Cooperative is searching for a skilled and proactive Facilities Maintenance Technician to help ensure our Waco Headquarters campus and surrounding buildings remain safe, efficient, and reliable.
What You’ll Do- Develop and execute maintenance programs and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain grounds, buildings, and key systems—environmental, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC.
- Inspect facilities and equipment, identify issues, and perform or coordinate repairs.
- Ensure compliance with ADA, OSHA, fire code, and other safety regulations.
- Maintain and manage security, fire alarm, lighting, and automated building systems.
- Oversee and support projects, facility upgrades, and vendor work.
- Maintain a large HVAC system—including magnetic‑bearing chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, BMS, and water treatment.
- Lead workspace layout planning, furniture installation, and facility modifications.
- Maintain digital records of maintenance, repairs, warranties, and facility systems.
- Assist with budget planning and sourcing parts, supplies, and equipment.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests.
- Schedule and oversee external maintenance contracts and coordinate with internal departments.
- Associate degree or military experience + 3 years of facilities maintenance experience, OR high school diploma/GED + 5 years of experience.
- Experience with BMS software, Crestron lighting controls, computer‑controlled HVAC systems, water chemistry, and 480 VAC commercial electrical systems.
- Commercial HVAC certification required.
- Physical requirements:
work indoors/outdoors; lift up to 50 lbs; occasional overtime/travel; normal vision/hearing (corrective devices permitted).
