Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
STS Technical Services is hiring Lead A&P Mechanics in Waco, Texas to support a full-service MRO specializing in aircraft maintenance and modification programs. This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity for an experienced, certificated mechanic who is ready to guide a team, ensure compliance, and deliver top‑quality results on every project.
Responsibilities- Provide technical expertise and leadership to assigned maintenance teams.
- Distribute work cards and directives as assigned by the Line Supervisor or Program Manager.
- Perform hands‑on maintenance work while overseeing the quality and efficiency of team members.
- Ensure all parts and components are properly tagged, identified, and stored.
- Verify that work is signed, stamped, and completed by properly certificated personnel.
- Ensure adherence to FAA regulations, company policies, and quality procedures.
- Conduct On‑the‑Job Training (OJT) and maintain accurate OJT documentation.
- Communicate with the Program Manager regarding work progress, parts, and tooling requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Report any procedural or compliance deficiencies to Maintenance Supervisors.
- Supervise and guide non‑certificated personnel performing maintenance tasks.
- Current and valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate or Repairman Certificate under FAR Part 65.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Aircraft Technician.
- Minimum 2 years in a Lead Mechanic or Supervisory role.
- Proficiency in Systems or Interiors work.
- Experience with Boeing 767, 747, 737 and/or Airbus A330, A340 platforms preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical data accurately.
