Varies. Salary Range: $32.50 - $52.00.

• Assesses clients/patients/residents and designs occupational therapy treatments.
• Help clients/patients/residents to develop, maintain and recover their ability to perform tasks in daily life activities.
• Conduct evaluations and provide interventions for clients/patients/residents with functional, cognitive or behavioral impairments.
• Evaluate physical, cognitive, developmental and psychosocial abilities; develop realistic therapy goals and administer appropriate occupational therapy programs.
• Document client/patient/resident information for evaluation; establish therapeutic plans and modify them as necessary.
• Provide education to clients/patients/residents to enhance understanding and improve functional outcomes.
• Demonstrate knowledge of age-related treatments and evaluations relevant to clients/patients/residents; incorporate current research into daily treatment.
• May treat individuals of all ages with varying diagnoses and disorders; maintain documentation per departmental guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Follow and adhere to accepted clinical practice guidelines of professional organizations.
• Demonstrate flexibility with variable work schedules/assignments and participate in activities to promote the department, Good Samaritan Society and Sanford Health.
• Interact with individuals outside the department (e.g., providers, case managers, family members, third party payers, public organizations).
• May supervise assistants, aides, and students; provide ongoing education and training to peers as determined by department leadership.
• Perform other related duties as requested by manager.
• Work focus may be in post-acute, long-term care, and home health care environments depending on facility/location.

• Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
• Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as Occupational Therapist.
• When working at a Sanford Health Facility (not required but preferred for GSS Facilities):
  Must also be certified through the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
• May require a valid driver’s license where applicable.
• Obtains and maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.
• In the states of South Dakota and Iowa, new graduates in the process of testing with the board may be considered with a temporary license.
