About StyleA team of consultants who meet guests where they are and deliver strong operations, guest experience, and compelling visual merchandising presentations that inspire guests and build the basket. A Style Consultant is focused on operations and delivering an incredible guest experience, with in-store presentations that enable self-discovery. Style Consultants are welcoming and helpful in meeting guests needs on the sales floor and in the fitting room, ensuring the floor is set full with the right product, accurately priced and signed on the salesfloor with the right sizes, styles, and colors.

- Guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest-first culture across the store
- Retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing and promotions strategies, and basic visual merchandising
- Industry trends including style, seasonality, and brand differentiation
- Set, fill, and price the floor according to what is most important to the guest
- Drive sales and deliver a guest-ready floor by executing visual standards, promotional signing, and staying knowledgeable on assortment and brand offerings to assist the guest as needed
- Leverage store tools to understand sales, inventory ownership, and use them to support guest needs
- Sort truck freight, push freight to the salesfloor, and locate merchandise in the backroom based on business needs
- Set visual presentations and merchandising guides to support guest experience and sales
- Maintain product availability and a full floor by executing priority fills, manual fills, and merchandising to capacity
- Maintain backroom organization, including locating merchandise to support replenishment, fulfillment, and guest requests
- Remerchandise presentations as they sell through using merchandising best practices
- Support price change processes by executing clearance merchandising and signing
- Maintain and use the fitting rooms as an opportunity to welcome, inspire, and help guests
- Support fulfillment and guest needs by moving merchandise from fitting rooms and guest service back to the salesfloor
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
- Work safely; comply with safety policies, report hazards and correct where possible
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pickup (OPU), and Drive-up (DU) while complying with applicable laws
- Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks
- Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs
- Thank guests for shopping at Target
- All other duties based on business needs
- You enjoy interacting and helping others, including guests and fellow team members
- You thrive in a fast-moving, highly active and physically demanding role where teamwork, flexibility, and problem solving are key
- You are open to a flexible schedule with varying hours, days or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays)
The Good News: We have an excellent training program to teach you what you need to know to be a Style Consultant. Basic skills to have from the start include:
- Strong interest and knowledge of apparel products and accessories
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
- Ability to communicate across multiple devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and with a team
- Resolve guest questions quickly
- Ability to stay focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
Basic expectations:
- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
- Climb up and down ladders
- Move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 15 pounds regularly and up to 44 pounds occasionally
- Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays); reliable attendance
- Work in varying temperatures and elements while performing duties including Drive-Up and carryout
- Remain mobile for the duration of a shift
