Position: Security Officer I

Overview

This position is responsible for the safety and security of staff, patients, visitors, facilities, and grounds.

Responsibilities

Performs essential security functions to protect the assets of Ridgeview Medical Center from loss, damage, and/or unauthorized access.

Patrols and provides escorts at assigned locations.

Fulfils key responsibilities during the organization's implementation of emergency plans.

Responds to security emergencies as well as various calls for service and assist as needed.

Monitors critical building security systems such as cameras, alarms, access controls, etc.

Maintains and properly operates equipment including radio, emergency vehicle, and assigned use of force equipment.

Addresses non-compliance related to administrative policies such as smoking, parking, and safety/security regulations.

Successfully completes all required training (ASP, MOAB, Taser, ICS 100 & 200, etc.).

Completes daily logs and incident reports.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Work Experience

High school graduate or equivalent
Must be at least 21 years old and able to meet Ridgeview's insurability requirements.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions.
Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above.
Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in the English language and respond accordingly in order to complete job functions as mentioned above.

License/Certifications

CPR/First Aid (within 6 months of hire) annually
Valid MN driver's license and meets Ridgeview's insurability requirements

Preferred Qualifications

International Association of Healthcare Safety Security (IAHSS) Basic Level
Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) (within 6 months of hire)
Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200 (within 1 year of hire)
Completion of recognized curriculums (STORM, CPI, etc.)
TASER, ASP, Repuls/AIP, Management of Aggressive Behaviors (M.O.A.B)

Compensation

Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation such as: the requirements of the position, experience, education, knowledge, and skills along with location and internal equity. Pay listed does not include any shift, weekend, or other differentials.
