Medical Assistant I – Wadsworth Rittman Medical Center – Family Practice Office
Will work both front desk (clerical) and rooming patients (clinical)!
Full‑Time – Monday to Friday – Benefits Eligible – $1,500 sign‑on bonus offered.
Location: 195 Wadsworth Road, Suite 402, Wadsworth, OH 44281
Salary: $19.23/hr – $23.08/hr (base salary)
Job Summary: Participates with the care teams in Summa Health to provide patient‑focused care. Maintains and adapts to daily operations, interprets and executes provided instructions, and works reliably with professionalism in a medical office environment.
Formal Education Required- Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program
- One (1) year related medical office experience; or externship; or associated experience or education
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and EMR
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team
- Maintain HIPAA confidentiality
- Effectively interact with populations of patients with understanding of their needs for self‑respect and dignity
- Ability to travel between locations as needed within the medical group
- Required ability to handle bodily fluids and possible exposure to communicable disease
- For SHMG employees: obtain Basic Life Support certification within six months of hire with Summa Health and maintain the BLS certification
- Pass yearly clinical skill competencies
- Medium:
Exerts 20–50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10–25 pounds of force frequently, or negligible amount of force continuously to move objects. Ability to bend, stand, and walk for extended time.
