Summary

Provides assistance to the Emergency Department physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapists in pre-hospital and Emergency Department Triage, stabilization, and transport of patients.

Formal Education Required

Successful completion of a course approved by the Ohio Department of Public Safety Division of EMS in Paramedic education and current certification by the State of Ohio.

Experience & Training Required

One (1) years of field experience (recent, within past five years), as an EMT in a part time or full time capacity.

Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications

• Current certification in BLS-HCP and ACLS
• May require current certification in PALS – varies by location
• Other certifications and competencies as required by department
• Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity

Level Of Physical Demands

• Heavy:
  Exerts 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or ten to 20 pounds of force continuously to move objects.
• Ability to move and lift patients.

Base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members when determining offers. Please keep in mind that the range that is listed is the full base salary range.
