Location:
Position may be filled at Akron, OH or Wadsworth, OH. Position is currently remote but may work at or visit a facility based on business need. This position is part of First Energy’s Cyber Security Governance department reporting to the Manager of Cyber Security Policy. The Cyber and Information Security Analyst works across all First Energy subsidiaries and business units to protect the cyber assets of First Energy.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline (preferred).
- Ability to identify and assess the severity and potential impact of risks, communicating findings to risk owners in a fact‑based, objective manner.
- Familiarity with common cyber security tools such as vulnerability scanners (Tenable preferred), Service Now IRM and GRC, Microsoft Power Automate, Microsoft Power BI, and related tool chains.
- Strong decision‑making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh costs and benefits of potential actions.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and pay attention to internal and external information sources.
- Ability to influence others by informing their opinions, plans or behaviors.
- Effective communication of complex technical issues to diverse audiences, orally and in writing.
- Infrequent business travel to Akron, OH may be required.
- Participation in an on‑call rotation (daily cycling; on‑call every ~6‑8 days) responding to out‑of‑hours calls and alerts.
