At KWS Vegetables, innovation starts long before a new variety reaches the field. It starts in our laboratories, where science and technology come together to create new opportunities for vegetable breeding.
To strengthen our Cell Biology team, we are looking for a hands‑on and curious Postdoc Plant Regeneration to join our research hub in Wageningen, the Netherlands.
In this role, you will develop and improve regeneration systems that support advanced breeding technologies across multiple vegetable crops. Your work will help transform scientific discoveries into practical solutions that accelerate breeding progress and contribute to the next generation of vegetable varieties.
Working closely with colleagues in Cell Biology, Breeding and Research, you will combine scientific excellence with real‑world impact in a highly collaborative and international environment.
You will report to the Head of Cell Biology of KWS Vegetables.
Job PurposeContribute to the competitiveness of the global KWS vegetable breeding portfolio by developing and implementing efficient, reliable and crop‑relevant regeneration technologies.
You will design and execute experiments, generate scientific insights and translate them into practical solutions that support breeding and research activities across KWS Vegetables worldwide.
Your Tasks- Develop, optimize and implement regeneration protocols for selected vegetable crops.
- Design and execute experiments to improve efficiency, reproducibility and plant quality.
- Investigate factors influencing regeneration responses, including genotype, explant type, media composition and culture conditions.
- Support advanced cell biology applications such as transformation and gene editing.
- Analyze experimental data, identify bottlenecks and propose practical solutions.
