Salary: starting at $57,000, full-time
Maui Ocean Center is seeking a Sales & Events Coordinator to serve as the primary on-site contact for group and private events. This full-time role is ideal for a highly organized, energetic professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences. The Coordinator oversees events from booking through execution, collaborating across departments to ensure seamless operations and outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities- Manage group and private events from booking through completion
- Serve as primary client contact and coordinate with Sales, F&B, Marketing, and Operations
- Create and manage Event Orders (EOs) to ensure seamless execution
- Oversee on-site event setup, operations, and breakdown
- Conduct site inspections and client tours
- Build strong client relationships and complete post-event follow-ups
- Support marketing, special events, and sales initiatives
- Manage event calendars, client meetings, and assist with payments
- Travel as needed, including trade shows
- Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, marketing, or related field or 3–5 years of event planning experience
- Sales experience preferred
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Confident, professional communicator in client-facing environments
- Ability to lift 35 lbs. and assist with event setup
- Comfortable learning new technology (Rocket Rez a plus)
- Self-motivated, dependable, and service-oriented with a positive attitude
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and a 365-day operating environment.
- Work responsibilities include a mix of in-office activities, on-the-road client engagements, and evening event support
