Job Summary:The Program Manager (PM) of the Maui Safe House Program is a full‑time, exempt position responsible for the overall management of the program, ensuring compliance with contractual and licensing requirements, supervision of staff, and collaborative service delivery to adolescent male residents.
EssentialQualifications:
- BA degree in human services or related field with five years of experience in providing residential services.
- Two years experience in personnel management and proposal or grant writing.
- Valid TB clearance and physical exam.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid Hawaii Driver’s license and no‑fault insurance.
- Successful background clearances including FBI & Hawaii State Criminal; DHS Child Abuse neglect; motor vehicle records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Willingness to accept and implement The Salvation Army philosophy.
- Sound judgment, dependability, understanding, firmness, caring, organization, high energy.
- Liaison skills with public service agencies and community agencies.
- Work under stressful conditions.
- Interact with others with courtesy and tact.
- Relate to a wide range of people and situations including youth, parents, agency workers, police, school personnel, etc.
- Work within an interdisciplinary team concept; participate in staff training and growth groups.
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects in an organized and efficient manner.
- Respond to crisis situations in a calm and effective manner.
- Complete projects on schedule.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain regular and punctual work attendance; may require flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
The position requires sitting; climbing and/or balancing; stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching, crouching and/or crawling; standing; walking; manual dexterity and eye‑hand coordination; use of vision; driving a vehicle; pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying 25–50 pounds and occasionally more than 50 pounds; traveling by airplane.
