Job Summary:

The Program Manager (PM) of the Maui Safe House Program is a full‑time, exempt position responsible for the overall management of the program, ensuring compliance with contractual and licensing requirements, supervision of staff, and collaborative service delivery to adolescent male residents.

Essential

Qualifications:
  • BA degree in human services or related field with five years of experience in providing residential services.
  • Two years experience in personnel management and proposal or grant writing.
  • Valid TB clearance and physical exam.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid Hawaii Driver’s license and no‑fault insurance.
  • Successful background clearances including FBI & Hawaii State Criminal; DHS Child Abuse neglect; motor vehicle records.
Essential Functions:
  • Overall management of the Safe House residential services.
  • Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and manage multiple contracts and program sites for the implementation of residential services.
  • Direct supervision of all residential staff in the performance of their duties and work schedules.
  • Manage contracts to meet requirements and ensure outcomes for funding sources.
  • Oversee case supervision of clients, ensuring treatment plans are reviewed and goals achieved in a timely manner.
  • Orient, train and evaluate program and volunteer staff in residential program activities and curriculum.
  • Develop operational procedures for the residential programs in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly reports to the Executive Director and funding agencies regarding clients served and services provided.
  • Assist administration in presenting the program to the community and maintain productive relationships with relevant agencies, schools, and community resources.
  • Arrange staff development training as needed.
  • Perform duties of residential staff when required.
  • Prepare funding proposals as assigned.
  • Attend staff meetings, training, conferences and workshops.
  • Travel off‑island as necessary.
  • Other Functions:

    • Maintain regular and punctual work attendance; may require flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

    The position requires sitting; climbing and/or balancing; stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching, crouching and/or crawling; standing; walking; manual dexterity and eye‑hand coordination; use of vision; driving a vehicle; pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying 25–50 pounds and occasionally more than 50 pounds; traveling by airplane.
