A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a nurse that has graduated from an accredited nursing program and is licensed as an LPN by the State of Hawaii. The LPN uses their training for performing quality nursing services for the care and treatment of patients in the offices.

• Performs general nursing duties, including escorting the patient to the exam room, preparing the patient, taking and recording vital signs, observing symptoms, eliciting information, and reporting to the provider during the examination.

• Prepares patient records before the visit, maintains an accurate record of all medications, injections, and treatments administered, checks records after the exam, completes requisitions, and makes appointments.

• Directs and supervises other health care personnel in clinic, delegating duties within scope of practice.

• Screen phone calls to the provider, calls patients to relay instructions or advice, performs patient teaching and nursing checks.

• Assists in other offices when directed by the Director of Nursing or designee; performs other tasks and duties as directed by the provider and/or the nurse in charge.

• Maintains or oversees sanitary conditions in the office, orders medical and clerical supplies. 5%
• All other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned. 5%
• Demonstrates quality work, completes assignments on a timely basis, and makes decisions within limits of authority; adheres to all company policies. 2.5%
• Maintains time and attendance standards consistent with company policy. 2.5%

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Licensure as a LPN in the State of Hawaii required.
• Active/unexpired CPR/BLS Card required.

• Demonstrates effective communication and telephone skills.
• Computer literacy preferred.

Medical equipment – e.g. nebulizer, pulse oximetry, EKG machine, glucometer, and that specific to area/clinic of primary practice.

• Physically fit to perform the duties of the position.
• Willingly participates as a member of the nursing team.
• Possesses effective organizational skills and maintains a “can-do” attitude.

Walking (85%); sitting (15%); lifts 25 lbs. with occasional heavier loads.

LPN starting @ $26.06 / MA starting @ $23.72 / CA starting @ $19.58; based on experience.
