Buffalo Trail Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, student‑centred educator to join the team at Wainwright Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This part‑time probationary teaching position includes an Elementary Generalist assignment serving students in Kindergarten to Grade 6.

Responsibilities
  • Training and/or experience in elementary literacy and numeracy instruction, with a focus on strong foundational learning and student success.
  • Knowledge of and experience implementing differentiated instruction and responsive supports to meet the diverse academic, behavioural, social‑emotional, and learning needs of students.
  • The ability to create welcoming, student‑centred learning environments where students feel valued, supported, and successful.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a supportive school team, including collaboration with educational assistants, student support staff, and families.
  • A commitment to fostering positive relationships that promote student well‑being, belonging, and success.
Qualifications and General Duties
  • A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.
  • A student‑centred philosophy committed to maximizing student learning in a safe and caring environment.
  • Experience and/or training in Assessment for Learning, including formative and summative assessment practices.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace for Education and educational technology to support communication, collaboration, and student learning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • A demonstrated commitment to professional growth and reflective practice aligned with the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard.
  • A willingness to contribute to extracurricular opportunities and the broader school community would be considered an asset.
