Overview

Our kitchen depends on our dishwashers to help keep things running smoothly in our high-volume kitchen. Many of our guests have been regulars for decades, and we are proud of our role in introducing visitors to Hawaiian cuisine, so expectations are high for consistency and presentation. We are looking for dependable individuals who are excited to be part of our team to join our kitchen crew!

Responsibilities
  • Using a commercial dishwasher, and/or sink, spray hose(s), water, cleaning and sanitizing solutions/chemicals, gloves, scrub pads and/or hands, wash dishes, glasses, flatware, pots, pans, cooking and serving implements, catering items and other assorted restaurant items. At times hand washing of items is required and expected.
  • Inspecting all items, after washing, to ensure they are thoroughly clean with no food or food residue left on them.
  • In a timely fashion, putting away and returning thoroughly washed and sanitized items to their proper location within the restaurant.
  • Proper and prompt clearing, cleaning, and setting of tables as needed.
  • Stocking, cleaning, and prepping back and front of house areas.
  • Opening and/or closing work area, following to expected opening/closing standards and procedures.
  • Assist with food preparation functions, when needed, as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications
  • No prior experience necessary, but previous work in catering or restaurant service is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong attendance record
  • Positive attitude
  • Team player who is able to multitask efficiently
  • Able to stand and/or walk continuously for long periods of time, often up to 10 hours a day, in non-temperature-controlled, high-humidity, high-heat environment, working with hot and/or sharp equipment, including steam-emitting equipment
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds with or without assistance
  • Required to follow both oral and written instruction
  • Expected to communicate clearly and efficiently with co-workers and managers
