Senior Network Engineer

Overview

As a Network Administrator for GEI you will serve as the technical and subject matter expert in maintaining the network and server infrastructure. You must be able to establish, maintain and increase user satisfaction through professional, courteous and thoughtful end user support.

• Provide administration for all aspects of network operations including firewalls, VPN, routing, switching, network segmentation, wireless, backups, IPsec and content filtering.
• Security vulnerability, Intrusion Prevention and remediation
• Implement security improvements
• Keep up to date with the latest threats and attack methods
• Maintaining and creating documentation
• Network and server monitoring
• On premise, SAN and cloud server virtualization
• Computer lifecycle management, hardware acquisition and inventory management
• Database management
• Conduct daily infrastructure security assessments
• Coordinate with I.T. Infrastructure Team to develop and maintain company security policy
• Evaluate new technologies for possible implementation
• Manage Group Policy and Active Directory
• Respond to end user helpdesk support requests from local and remote users
• Train and educate end users on proper security techniques, trends and procedures
• Workstation deployment and troubleshooting
• Maintain hardware and software license compliance
• Office 365 administration

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) required.
• 8+ years of IT experience as a Network Engineer/Administrator in an SMB/Enterprise environment
• 8+ years supporting Cisco (or equivalent) Firewalls, routers, and switches
• 8+ years of providing excellent desktop and end user support
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities
• Willingness to work outside normal business hours and travel when required
• Strong English oral and written communication skills
• Ability to convey technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to non-technical personnel
• Strong understanding of Active Directory and Group Policy
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 environment
• Working knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure (Microsoft Azure)
• Support VMware environment
• Understanding of Veeam Backup Software
• Understanding of Fortinet Firewalls, Forti
  
  EMS, Forti Manager, Forti Analyzer
• Understanding of SD-WAN and Dynamic Routing Protocols (BGP)
• Understanding of Meraki Switching/Access Points
• Understanding of Cisco ISE a plus
• Understanding of Microsoft Intune a plus
• Security+, Network+, CCNA R/S or CCNA Security certifications a plus
